About Us

The Bellingham Police Guild is the sole representative body of Bellingham police officers, detectives and sergeants.  The Guild is a nonprofit organization, hence it supports itself solely through the contributions of its members, and receives no government or other agency support.  The Guild advocates for its members in contract negotiations and protecting officers rights; the Guild advocates on behalf of the community by speaking out on issues related to public safety.

While citizens flee the scene, and other agencies stage outside the scene, our Guild members (police officers) are unique in that they rush toward the sound of gunfire; typically, we are the first responders at scenes of crisis in our city, be it a car crash, burglary, domestic incident, or drive-by shooting, aggravated assault or homicide.  Our Guild members do so, often at great risk to themselves, with the intention of reducing or eliminating risk to the public we so proudly serve.
